Outside da Box was founded in 2005 by Eric Groth, a veteran youth minister, in order to respond to a tremendous need in the Catholic Church: The absence of relevant Catholic video resources for teens in parish youth ministry and catechetical settings.
The online world is quite sobering; a social reality – a digital platform where a great deal of teenage existence is lived.
Teens in America spend a daunting 7.5 hours a day (1/3 of their lives) in front of some sort of screen. 50 million U.S. teens have Facebook accounts and their minds and thumbs are sending an average of 3,000 text messages every month. Teenage life is saturated by digital messages – many of which are misleading and destructive.
