What is Cursillo?

Cursillo is a Spanish word that means “short course”. The full title for Cursillo means “Short Course in Christianity”. It begins Thursday evening and ends on Sunday night. During those three days those attending live and work together listening to talks given by priests and other laity. They also share Eucharist and pray together.

St. Jane's Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain at St. Jane's is a group of individuals who pray in response to the requests from parishioners for people in need or crisis. This network of people who are committed to prayer take action on behalf of the community on Jesus' word to "ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened". (Mathew 7: 7) The importance of the prayer chain is that it faithfully intercedes on behalf of others in need by lifting up specific requests, concerns and emergency situations. All requests are kept in confidence.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN REQUESTING PRAYERS:

  • It is helpful to know a little bit about why the person needs prayers so that prayers can be focused on the specific need but it is not necessary.

  • The Prayer Chain requests first names only!

  • Names remain on the Prayer Chain for approximately one week.

Divine Mercy

The Divine Mercy Ministry at St. Jane's has promoted devotion to the eternally generous mercy of God. The central prayer of this ministry is the Divine Mercy Chaplet, given by Our Lord Himself to St. Maria Faustina. It is recited every Tuesday, at 3:00 p.m. during Eucharistic Adoration in the Chapel and every Saturday morning after Mass, for the intentions of all those struggling with cancer. Divine Mercy Sunday, the first Sunday after Easter, is celebrated at St. Jane's as a grace - filled day recognizing God's endless mercy and desire for reconciliation.
