LITURGICAL MINISTRIES Ministry of Acolyte
An acolyte is a young man
or woman who assists the priest or deacon at the altar. His/her responsibility is serving at our weekly
Sunday Eucharistic celebrations when scheduled. Men and women are also
trained to serve at funerals and other liturgies. (Contact: Father Eric Tolentino: 610-253-3553, Ext. 17)
Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist
Extraordinary
ministers of the Eucharist are persons needed to function as Ministers of
Communion during Eucharistic liturgy, in hospitals, nursing homes, and to
shut-ins. Pope Paul VI listed the qualities in the minister of
communion. The person who has been appointed must be duly instructed and
should distinguish himself/herself by Christian life, faith, and morals,
striving to be worthy of this great office, cultivating devotion to the
Holy Eucharist and acting as an example to the other faithful by piety and
reverence for this most holy sacrament of the altar.”

Ministry of Greeter
People look for a welcoming parish. The Greeter invites all to enter into the House of the Lord and is called to set an example of hospitality for the rest of the community. Greeters are the initiators of a climate of hospitality that should spread throughout the whole church. (Contact: Colleen Kaulius: 610-923-0436)
Ministry of the Lector
A lector is responsible for proclaiming the word of God in a way that makes the word come alive. To proclaim the word means more than reading it aloud. Proclaiming is transmitting the scripture in a public, articulate, and interpretive manner. The word of God is multi-faceted. It teaches, converts, forgives, challenges, encourages, and sustains the faithful.

Ministry of Usher
The ministry of usher is open to men and women of all ages. The ushers assist in seating people before the celebration of mass, and during the offering taking up the collection. They guide the congregation during the reception of communion. After the final blessing the ushers are positioned at the exits to distribute the weekly bulletin. (Contact: Tom Rafferty: 610-258-9491)
SOCIAL MINISTRIES Angel Tree
This is a Christmas outreach program that is affiliated with the Prison Ministry. Parishioners are involved in calling families of prisoners, putting up a tree with angels that are filled with Christmas requests for children of prisoners, sorting the gifts and delivering them. (Contact: Deacon Bob Rodgers: 610-253-7794 Ext. 12)
Bereavement
We currently have three separate committess for the bereaved family. The first group assists in the preparation of the funeral liturgy. We suggest readings and hymns that are available for the Eucharistic celebration. A meal, made by parishioners is available to them. There is a follow-up phone committee to keep in touch with the families a few weeks later. A second committee leads a support group to help in the transition for the family of the deceased by facilitating regular support meetings. A third committee has a group of funeral servers to assist in the funeral liturgy. (Contact: Ann Lipari: 610-252-8229 (liturgy planners), Sue Griffin: 610-867-1106, or George Kopas: 610-258-4265 (funeral servers)
Emergency Meals
Every once in a while an emergency arises in our lives and we need help. There is a group of volunteers who are ready to help prepare and deliver meals to your family. (Contact: Susan Fernandez: 610-882-9395)
Health & Wellness
The parish Health and Wellness Ministry is to provide holistic health care to St. Jane Frances de Chantal faith community through education, caring, the promotion of spirituality, and positive health changes. We are health professionals called by God to a ministry of service rooted in Jesus Christ. (Contact: Joan Bertolino: 610-438-0381 & Cindy Mlodzienski: 610-252-6982)
Hospital Volunteers
Easton
Hospital is in need of dedicated volunteers in many departments, including
the Pastoral Care Department. Many positions require only a few hours a
week of your time. (Contact: George Kopas: 610-258-4265)
Ministry to Shut-ins and Nursing Homes For those who are unable to attend Mass for any reasons, eucharistic ministers are assigned to visit. Patients in nursing homes are visited by our eucharistic ministers on a regular basis. We also visit patients socially during the week as needed. (Contact: Marie Thaler: 610-252-7403)
Respect Life
Following the teachings of Jesus Christ as a Representative Body of the Parish, we seek to be the instruments of God's grace. We will encourage each parishioner of St. Jane's family to understand, embrace and promote reverence for the dignity and sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. We will induce the faithful to defend life for the most vulnerable among us: The preborn, the disabled, the elderly, the sick, the dying and the condemned. We will strive ultimately to create and sustain a culture of life for our community and our nation. (Contact: Cindy Saab: 610-258-1243)
Welcoming Committee
After new members have met with a priest and registered at Saint Jane’s, they receive a Parish Information Packet which gives detailed information regarding parish ministries, outreach, people to contact and various community services offered by parishioners. As a committee we invite new members and parishioners to a Parish Coffee. The Parish Coffee helps new parishioners experience the hospitality of Saint Jane’s Community.
