The Marriage Preparation Dialogue team at St. Jane’s consists of 6-12 married couples who meet with engaged couples from all over the Allentown Diocese to help them prepare for the sacrament of marriage. The team couples are responsible for presenting talks and holding small group discussions. The meetings take place twice a year, usually January/February and July, and meet on 3 consecutive Friday nights. For more information, consult the Organizational Contacts List.
A Marriage Encounter weekend is designed to give married couples the opportunity to examine their lives together…a time to share their feelings, their hopes, disappointments, joys and frustrations… and to do so openly and honestly, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life. Couples are encouraged on the weekend to focus on each other and their relationship. There is an emphasis on a communication technique that they can use for the rest of their lives. Most importantly, this special time together gives couples a chance to look deeply into their relationship with each other and with God.
